Edmonton Padres RHP/Utility player Nolan Rivard committed to play at Columbia Basin College in Pasco, WA, a consistent powerhouse program in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) of junior college baseball.

“I’m very excited for the opportunity to play at the next level while furthering my education, but most of all thankful for the support I’ve been given along the way from family, friends and coaches,” said Rivard after his recent visit to Columbia Basin.

Signing on to play college baseball caps off a strong run of accomplishments.  After being named the Baseball Alberta 18U A player of the year in 2018, Rivard returned to AAA competition with the Edmonton Padres for a strong Norwest League season in 2019.  During the season, he was selected to Team Alberta to participate in the Baseball Canada Cup.  Early in 2020, Rivard was invited to attend the Perfect Game West MLK Classic in Arizona with the Big League Experience Scout Team.

“Nolan is the type of player every coach would like to work with,” said Padres Technical Director John Sutherland.  “He combines high skill, advanced athleticism and a tremendous work ethic.  This combination of attributes will serve him well as he prepares to compete at the next level.”
