The Edmonton Padres 18U AAA team had a strong showing at Tier II Provincials on July 26-28, taking a hard fought silver medal in the championship game against Northern Lights from Grande Prairie.  After opening the tournament with strong wins over host Fort McMurray and the East Central Bulls, the Padres had a dramatic walk-off win against the Calgary Jr. Dino’s to advance to the tournament final.  The team put forth a championship effort but was just short on the scoreboard and Northern Lights advanced to the Tier I 18U AAA Provincials the following weekend.
